On September 30, 2016, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana acquired the Old Medical School Building directly adjacent to our current Ronald McDonald House. The Old Medical School was owned by the Greater Louisville Medical Society who relocated after the transaction. This purchase will allow Ronald McDonald House to expand, creating space for 20 additional guestrooms, expanded living and dining rooms, a new commercial kitchen, and renovating all existing guest rooms.
Our Ronald McDonald House is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. In 2016 we turned away families 364 times because we were full. We are not okay with that.
This expansion project will be the largest in our history and we can not do it without you.
