20 Nov RMHCK Scholarships
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana understands students across Kentuckiana work hard to earn top grades, dreaming of the college they’ll attend and the education they’ll receive. Unfortunately, we understand too that many of these students won’t be able to afford it and we want to help.
Since 2008, RMHCK has awarded 61 graduating high school seniors with funds to help cover their cost of college tuition. These scholarships are graciously and f ully funded by our local McDonald’s Owner/Operators. This year RMHCK will award 10 one-time $2,500 scholarships to students in financial need who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.
Rebecca Sears, RMHC Scholar 2012
“For me, this award helped me to live on campus my freshmen year. I was able to immerse myself in campus activities and truly get involved. My involvement has led me closer to reaching my goal of studying law and becoming an attorney. The Ronald McDonald House scholarship is responsible for giving me this opportunity. This award has done even more than assist with financials and help me reach my career goals.”
Vasiliki Wilk, RMHC Scholar 2014
“Because of this scholarship, my financial burden has been lightened, which allows me to focus on my education to include learning, studying, and getting experience in my field of interest. I’m currently attending Murray State University because of its AVMA certified Pre-Veterinary Medicine program. Your generosity has allowed me to be one step closer to my goal of becoming a veterinarian.
When I first started thinking about college and its costs associated with it, I told myself I wanted to go debt free and this scholarship has helped with that. Upon graduating from Murray State University, I plan to go to Auburn University to get my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After I get my DVM, I would like to go back to my hometown to open m y own veterinary clinic.”
