RMHCK Scholarship Recipients 2015

On May 19th, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Kentuckiana and local McDonald’s® Owner/Operators were proud to award ten outstanding high school seniors with a one-time $2,500 scholarship.

In efforts to more accurately reflect the world in which we live, the scholarship program seeks to honor diverse young leaders in our community. For more information about our scholarship program, click here.

Finalists were chosen by the RMHCK Educational Advisory Committee (EAC) and evaluated based on academic performance, community involvement and financial need.  Students’ career goals include Pre-Medical, Political Science and International Law, Forensic Science, Public Relations and Marketing, Finance and Accounting, Mechanical Engineering and Education.

Since the 2008 launch of this program, 61 shining young adults have gone on to serve as outstanding representatives for Ronald McDonald House Charities in their communities.

A few words from these past and present outstanding leaders:Noah Wright - speaker“Last year I was selected as one of the recipients of this scholarship and its effect on my college experience has been incredible. Because of this scholarship I was able to live on campus in the honors dorm.  This scholarship really meant a lot to me because it heightened my experience at college more than I could have done alone. “

Noah Wright – RMHC Scholar 2014, University of Louisville

Jessica Chavez2“Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to become a teacher. I would like to major in secondary education with a focus on both foreign language and history. I do not view teaching as just a way to make a living; rather, it is a way to touch the lives of the leaders of tomorrow. I believe that everyone can make it to college if they are determined enough, and that everyone deserves another chance. Through this future career, I will help my students realize this philosophy and use it as motivation for their journey on the right path.” – Jessica Chavez – RMHC Scholar 2015, Attending Calvin College

We proudly welcome these forthcoming scholar leaders of 2015!
