Adopt-a Meal Program
A long day at the hospital can be exhausting, and a delicious meal can be quite the pick-me-up. Then think about eating out 3 meals a day for weeks; that can be financially draining. Our goal is to provide families with at least one home-cooked meal a day at Ronald McDonald House and we depend on volunteer groups to prepare and organize home made meals for our families.
- You can prepare your meal at home or in our kitchen
- You may use food you purchase or you may use whatever nonperishable items we have available in our pantry
- Groups can sign-up to prepare dinner at 6pm any evening or brunch on Saturday and Sunday at 10 am.
- Already a scheduled Adopt-A-Meal group? Click here for specific information.
- Already know what you are making? Please complete form and submit to tiffany@rmhc-kentuckiana.org.

Volunteer from Home
If you are interested in helping families staying at Ronald McDonald House or one of our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, but don’t have an extended amount of time available to visit the House or the hospital, are too young, or have a group that is too large to accommodate, we have plenty of suggestions for things that you can work on from your very own home. Suggestions include:
- Collect wish list items that help keep our programs running and meet the needs of our families.
- Collect pull tabs off of soft drink cans so that we can recycle them and use that money for the House.
- Put together goodie bags for the families staying at the House.
- Bake snacks or treats and drop them off for the families to enjoy.
- Contact: Christina Johnson, Volunteer Coordinator christina@rmch-kentuckiana.org or 502.561.7653.
Service Hours
One-time volunteer opportunities are available for an individual or groups as large as ten. This opportunity is great for those needing service hours for school, church groups, clubs, organizations, or for those just wanting to help out in their community.
- Individuals must be at least 16 years or older to volunteer for this opportunity without an adult.
- Tasks typically include baking snacks or treats and/or light cleaning around the House such as vacuuming, unloading dishwashers, straightening the kitchens, etc.
- Special projects, such as mailings or stuffing goody bags may be needed different times of the year.
